What is RealChat?
RealChat is a chat server software that helps website owners add live chat to their website. RealChat combines a high performance Java chat server with a lightweight Ajax chat client. You get tabbed chat, private rooms, customizable appearance, web-based configuration, and more!
What are the system requirements for RealChat server?
To use RealChat, you need a dedicated server or an unrestricted shell account on a shared machine. Free web hosting services, or web-only hosting, won’t work. RealChat on a shared server will fit the needs of most sites. However if you expect hundreds to thousands of users at a time (concurrent users) it would be better to go for a dedicated server.
Integration & Customization
Can I integrate RealChat with my members database?
RealChat supports seamless integration with any member database. Your registered members will be able to chat using their unique user names with no problem. Free plug-ins and integration instructions are available for phpBB, IP.Board, vBulletin and more!
How can I show who is currently logged into the chat room?
This can be done with the help of the RealChat Scripting API. You can show your visitors who is online via an ASP or PHP page before they enter the chat.
How much can I customize the colors, layout, etc?
You have total control over the user interface - layout, color theme, etc. A variety of color themes are bundled free-of-charge. Use the visual theme editor, included with RealChat Control Center, to create your own customized themes that perfectly match your web site!

Can I brand it as my own software?
With the Enterprise Edition you can put your own company details in the About section and remove all mention of RealChat!
Troubleshooting
My IP changed, I am unable to access the Control Center!

Chat interface loads (or loads partially), but users are unable to actually connect to the chat.
Using a personal HTTP filtering proxy such as Avast WebShield, Proxomitron, WebWasher may affect the way RealChat client communicates with the server. Users should avoid using filtering proxy for the host where RealChat is installed.
